What AFUE rating should I choose?

For most CT and NY homes, 96% AFUE two-stage is the sweet spot. The fuel savings versus an 80% unit typically justify the price difference within 4–6 years. We'll run the actual payback math with you.

What's the difference between single-stage and two-stage?

Single-stage runs at 100% or off. Two-stage runs at ~65% capacity most of the time — quieter, more even heat distribution, better humidity control, and lower monthly bills. We recommend two-stage for most homes.

Does high-efficiency mean a different venting setup?

Yes. High-efficiency furnaces (90%+) vent through PVC pipe rather than a metal flue. The new vent typically exits through a side wall. We handle all of this as part of the installation.

How long does furnace installation take?

A standard furnace replacement takes 4–6 hours. New installations with significant ductwork or gas line work may take a full day. We'll tell you before we start.

Can you install a furnace in a finished basement or tight space?

Yes — we install in crawl spaces, finished basements, utility closets, and attics. If access is tight, we'll tell you upfront and plan accordingly.
