What should I check right now?
1) Thermostat — make sure it's set to HEAT, temperature above current room temp, and batteries aren't dead. 2) Circuit breaker — check the breaker for your furnace or boiler. 3) Emergency shutoff — there's usually a red switch near the unit or at the top of basement stairs. 4) Boilers — check the pressure gauge. Should read 12–25 PSI. If it reads zero, that's likely your problem. If none of this fixes it, call us.
How fast can you get to me?
We give honest ETAs based on current dispatch — not scripted promises. No-heat calls in winter get priority across our entire service area.
What are the most common causes of no heat?
Failed igniter (most common in furnaces), bad zone valve, failed circulator pump, tripped pressure relief, low boiler water pressure, faulty control board, or a tripped safety switch. We carry all of these on the truck.
My boiler has an error code — what does it mean?
Error codes vary by manufacturer. When you call us, tell us the brand and what's on the display — we can often tell you what's failed before we arrive.
Should I be worried about carbon monoxide?
If your CO detector has triggered, get everyone out of the house immediately and call 911 before calling us. Do not re-enter until the fire department has cleared the building. Once it's safe, we'll come out and find the source.
